Founded in 2009 by Will Lewis, an IALD credentialed professional with more than a decade of experience, we focus on

Lighting Designer

We are seeking a a talented and passionate emerging lighting designer who is eager to contribute to all aspects of design and project management. The ideal candidate is eager to develop into a more substantial project design role, and is: results oriented, a decisive problem solver, and is team oriented. In this role you will work with the firm principal and senior design staff to develop, execute, analyze both natural and electric lighting design solutions for a wide variety of project types and sizes. The position offers opportunities for travel for projects, industry conferences, and professional development.

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Creation of conceptual lighting design materials including: precedent studies and presentation materials using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Revit lighting models, AutoCAD lighting plans , 3ds Max renderings, and AGI32 or ElumTools lighting calculations
  • Light fixture evaluation, mock-up, selection, and specification
  • Construction site visits, commissioning, and controls programming
  • Sustainability analysis and design, energy and rebate calculations
  • (Not all above skills are required in advance – training will be provided)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 year degree in Architecture, Lighting, Engineering, or other related design program
  • 1-3 years of experience in the lighting design field
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and AGI 32 (or similar) are required
  • Experience with and 3ds Max and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) a plus

Other required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A strong fundamental understanding of lighting principles and technology
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills

Senior Lighting Designer / Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Lighting Designer / Project Manager who excels in both creative design and technical expertise to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has proven ability as a designer and is ready to develop into a more substantial design leadership role. You are: an excellent written, verbal, and graphic communicator, team oriented, and exceptionally creative. In this role you will work alongside the firm Principal as lead designer and project manager, and will collaborate directly the architects and designers with whom we work. As a Senior Designer you will work to explore the full potential of light to impact the human experience with built environments. You will contribute to the development and implementation of production standards, design process, and provide mentorship and guidance to the junior staff that support you.

Primary job responsibilities include:

• Planning, concept development, proof of concept, analysis, execution, and management of deliverables production from schematic design through post occupancy

• Function as team leader to delegate, manage, review, and coordinate deliverables

• Conduct material and product research, testing, and cost estimation

• Serve as primary contact for clients and collaborating consultants

• Prepare and present design presentations, reports, and project work plans

• Provide on-site construction contract administration and observation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 year degree in Architecture, Lighting, Engineering, or other related design program

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the lighting design field

• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and AGI 32 (or similar), are required.
